Happy National Chip and Dip Day!

It's Friday! Not only that, but it's also National Chip and Dip Day! What delectably perfect nosh could be more deserving of its very own day? In our book—none!

After all, where would our favorite chips be if they didn't have queso, guac, salsa, and bean dip to complement them? The thought is just too dismal, so today we celebrate one of America’s favorite snacks!

The possibilities are endless
We’re partial to tortilla chips because they’re obviously delicious, but also because they’re so diverse. Tortilla chips run the gamut—white, yellow, blue, whole wheat, black bean—making them perfect for all kinds of dip.

Grab your favorites and kick off the weekend by whipping up batches of our famous Guacamole and Pico de Gallo!

Costa Vida’s Guacamole
Always a crowd-pleaser, this guacamole pairs perfectly with any kind of tortilla chip. It's also a great topping for burritos, tacos, toast--the possibilities are endless! (Tip: You can tame our guacamole’s heat by removing the seeds and ribs of your jalapeños before dicing.)


3 ripe avocados

¼ cup red onion, minced

½ cup tomatoes, diced

2 Tablespoons cilantro, chopped

1 lime, juiced (about 2 Tbsp.)

1 Jalapeño, minced

2 Tablespoons cotija cheese

Kosher salt, to taste

Remove pit and skin from avocados. Place avocados in a medium size bowl and mash with a fork until smooth, but still slightly chunky. Add the onion, tomatoes, cilantro, lime juice, jalapeño, and cotija cheese. Mix well. Season with salt to taste. Start the party with tortilla chips!

Costa Vida’s Pico de Gallo
Bursting with fresh flavors and just the right bite (thanks to delicious Serrano peppers), our Pico de Gallo is at its best when made with the freshest ingredients you can find and served the same day.


2 cups chopped fresh tomatoes

1/2 diced yellow onion

1/8 cup minced Serrano peppers (add more to increase spiciness!)

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Juice of 1 lime

1 tsp. granulated garlic

Kosher salt to taste


Combine tomatoes, onion, peppers, cilantro, lime juice, and granulated garlic in a bowl. Gently toss together. Add kosher salt to taste. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or spoon on top of your favorite tacos and salads!
